Should We Care What Comic Books Do With Their Characters

Earlier this week, DC announced that the comic publisher “plans to reintroduce an established character as gay.” (HT: i09) My bet is on Vibe, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyways, as I was doing some digging, I came across an article discussing Marvel Comics and their plans to have their “first openly gay hero, super speedster Northstar, and his longtime boyfriend” get married this summer. (HT: Jim West) Even wholesome Archie Comics has an openly gay character, Kevin Keller. All this got me thinking:

Should Christians care what goes on in comic books?

Some argue that this is just another means by which the “gay agenda” is advanced. Others argue that the publishers are catering to their gay readers and that there is nothing wrong with having gay characters.
