Politicians Need To Stop Saying Their Running Is “God’s Will”

First it was Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry.

Now there is Karen Santorum. Yeah, I know, she’s not the candidate, but she is saying it’s God’s will that Rick Santorum is running for President.

Karen Santorum, the wife of GOP presidential front-runner Rick Santorum, told talk show host Glenn Beck on Thursday that it is “God’s will” that her husband is seeking the presidency though she was initially opposed to the idea.

“I did always feel in my heart that God had big plans for Rick,” she said. “Eventually it was there, tugging at my heart. When Obamacare passed, that was it. That put the fire in my belly.”

I have a real problem when anyone comes out and makes any statement that their actions is “God’s will.” Did God personally tell you? How do you know it was God? Maybe it was Satan? Are you just hearing things?

Asinine comments like this just really get under my skin. Quit pandering to the Evangelical Right.

By that logic, isn’t it God’s will that Obama is currently the President? I think that’s a slippery slope that Republicans and the Evangelical Right don’t want to go down.

We see how effective this strategy has worked for the first two candidates. That’s right, they both dropped out. So either God lied to them, or they are ignoring God’s will!

Back to Karen Santorum’s comment, if your wondering, I call bs!
