Mark Driscoll’s Elect Nonsense

Mark Driscoll is at it again.

Really Mark?  Was the guy baptized, entranced into the body of Chrsit?  Has he confessed that Jesus is Lord?  This just hammers home that hyper-Calvinists are, at best, inconsistent when it comes to their understanding of the elect, and, at worst, teach that God randomly selects the elect.

Mark, you might want to see someone about these voices you keep hearing.

  1. Btw, Calvin had a much different way of ackowledging the elect, by seeing both the personal life/fruit, and the biblical, theological mind-set. But there is no perfection in either in the elect believer. Only Christ Jesus Himself…”To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27, ESV)

    • If we can see the assurance of our salvation, by faith thru grace, then we can know that we have been elected by God! Of course here is also the doctrine and teaching of perseverance. And not all Calvinists are inclined to double-predestination!
