Today, in my work mail, was a package from IVP that contained Shapers of Christian Orthodoxy edited by Bradley G. Green.
The best of evangelical theology has always paid attention to the key thinker in the history of the church. What God has done in the past is crucial to understanding who we are and how we are to live.
The purpose of this volume is threefold: to introduce a section of key early and medieval theologians, to strengthen the faith of evangelical Christians by helping them to understand the riches of the church’s theological reflection, and to hem them to learn to think theologically. (back cover)
To be quite honest, I don’t remember requesting this book from IVP…although, the book does fall into my interests, so it’s well within the realm of possibility that I just forgot. Anyways, it looks like an interesting book. Check back for my review.
